For my major design project I was inspired to create a multipurpose bag which served as several bags. The idea was inspired from my family as having a newborn brother meant that multiple bags were needed on each outing, which made it difficult to remember and carry all the bags. My multipurpose bag consists of a main back pack which acts as a nappy bag as it has internal compartments for storing nappies, bottles, toys and spare clothing, a detachable clutch for outings, as well as rolled up detachable tote bags for shopping. Throughout the production of my multipurpose, detachable bag for parents I built a stronger understanding into the usage of sewing machines and their abilities as well as an understanding of overlockers. This was also the first time I had ever followed a store bought pattern, which was a challenge but built my overall skill base.
