Year 11 Music studied three topics in 2020. These were Methods of Notating Music, Music for Large Ensembles and Rock Music. Students explored and completed a variety of tasks including a Rock Composition, a Viva Voce (spoken presentation) and for their Yearly Examination, a written/aural paper alongside a Performance. For the group performance, students explored the manner of the recording process, in particular, how to record using multi-tracking. Our performance presented here was recorded both visually and aurally in separate sitting and has been edited together. The students thoroughly enjoyed but also appreciated the difficult task of recording during this process.
