DANCE - Year 11

This year, the Year 11 Dance class was exposed to new Performance, Composition and Appreciation content. Each student found the practice that they shine in and will be taking that with them into Year 12 Dance. In class, students learnt movement combinations that enhanced their skills. This was highly demonstrated in the progression of a class dance and their Company Assessment, where they collaborated with each other extremely well. Their dance items for this task plus some evidence from our class dance or other combinations can be seen below.

'The Crown': This dance is performed by Zana, Hollie, Emily, Caitlyn and Erik. These students composed this dance with the intent 'Hierarchy of the Lower, Middle and Upper class'. Students created a Company work with consideration for music, costuming, props and other factors to help refine their dance and the communication of ideas.

'Mental Health': This dance is performed by Kirstin, Kamryn, Hayley and Jasmine. These students composed this dance with the intent 'Mental Illnesses = Bipolar, Schizophrenia, OCD and Eating Disorders and how they effect people in their everyday lives'. Students collaborated and made specific decisions on music, costumes, props, promotion and artistic direction when communicating ideas through their Company work.
