Artist Statement:

My works explore the concept of self identity and the ways in which people conform to feel welcomed and accepted into society. The photographs display how individuals are slowly morphing into the same person as the standards coming from the media exhibit “one perfect identity”, pressuring us to follow these standards, neglecting individuality. Individuals are pressured to put on a “mask” to cover up who they are, as shown throughout the work. The title 'Bermuda Triangle' reflects how we are being sucked into unrealistic standards which are dragging us away from our true selves. The layout of my body of work is in the shape of a triangle to further display this. Each set of drawings on the photographs represents the individuals' inner complexities.
