Core Performance

This is a performance showcasing technical skill including flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination and alignment. Throughout this dance there are a series of complex body skills that were trained and refined. An important aspect of this dance is also the ability to establish performance quality and connect to the audience through the expression of movement. Alyssa has exceuted this Core Performance Dance with sophistication.

Core Composition
​
Alyssa’s Core Composition was her own choreographed work initiated from a personal experience of the Bushfires in Summer 2019/20. Her dance explores ‘the natural disaster of a Bushfire and how that affects the community’. This can be shown in four sections that demonstrate the calm before the storm, the signs of evacuation, the fire itself and the aftermath of devastation.
Major Study Performance.
​
This is a Major Study Dance Work performed with skill and performance quality. The intent of this dance was inspired by the story of Mulan. Alyssa’s interpretation of this Performance Dance is that it explores ‘a woman who is coming to terms with her bravery in fighting, she pushes past the stereotype of women in battle and expresses courage’. Her performance of this dance is outstanding.
