College Cheer

This year College Cheer grew in numbers and consisted of students from Year 5 through to Year 9. Students developed a series of new skills including cheer motions, jumps, tumbling and stunting technique. Over the year, students rehearsed face to face and got involved in our Zoom lessons during the off-campus learning period. It was here that we then separated our large group into two groups for Stage 3 and Stage 4. Students rehearsed via Zoom and bi-weekly with Miss Valente or Mrs Kluit. This meant that our latest routine was chunked into parts that Primary students would perform and Secondary would perform. All of which was brought together to create one collaborative routine called 'Frozen'. Due to the nature of performances this year we took advantage of Dance Film and used this to create fun and exciting items as demonstrated in 'Frozen' and our collective project with Dance Company 'Eye of the Tiger' for Dr Quarmby's retirement. It has been so exciting to welcome so many new students into cheer this year and watch them be so enthusiastic towards improving their skills and constructing unique projects.
